The book that we will review together in May will be

'Butter' by Asako Yuzuki

This Japanese bestseller that was originally published in 2017 has been, recently released in an English translation.

It is inspired by the true story of Kanae Kijima, the Konkatsu Killer, who was convicted of seducing and murdering multiple victims.

The novel revolves around Rika Machida, a journalist in her 30s with a very poor work/life balance. Seeking a hit story, Rika reaches out to Manako Kajii who is a cook turned serial killer currently serving time in the Tokyo Detention Centre
