We are a group of outdoor enthusiasts who love fast-paced hiking in and around Toronto. Whether you're looking for an efficient workout, a way to explore the city's hidden ravines, or an occasional adventure beyond the city, this group is for you.

Fall Wilderness Hike: McCrae Lake – 18km – 4.5km/h – L4 (Hard)
Join us for the 18km wilderness hike at McCrae Lake Conservation Reserve
We’ll pass by numerous cliffs with spectacular views of Lake McCrae, hopefully vibrant fall foliage, as well as Beaver Dams, wetlands, and the rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield.
The terrain is challenging, with slippery rocks, mud, ascents, descents, and cliffs, so be prepared for plenty of opportunities to test your balance.
Requirements & Skill Level:
- It is recommended that before you RSVP for this event to participate in at least one other L3 or higher Ready, Set, Trail hike.
- Suitable for intermediate hikers; not recommended for beginners.
Distance & Duration:
- Length of hike: ~18 km
- Event duration: ~9hrs including driving
- Difficulty level: L4/Hard
- Distance: L3
- Pace: L3
- Terrain: L4
What to Bring:
- Water/Snacks: 3 liters / Trail Snacks / Lunch
- Required Gear: Hiking boots/Trail Runners
- Recommended:
- Hiking Poles
- First Aid kit (bandages, antiseptic wipes, etc)
- Headlamp (we'll be back before dark, but good to have one when wilderness hiking)
- Whistle
Costs:
- Carpool cost per Passenger: $25
Travel Coordination:
- Please answer the Carpool Question when signing up
- A. Driver – I can take X passengers
- B. Passenger only – I’ll ride with someone else.
- C. Prefer passenger, but can drive X passengers if needed.
- D. Meet directly at the event – no carpool.
- Carpool location: Sheppard West Subway Station - Passenger Drop-Off
- Priority of RSVPs will be to Drivers and Passengers willing to Drive if needed (Options A and C)
- Meeting at Carpool location 7:30am
- Meeting at Trail Head 9:00am
Event Guidelines:
- Punctuality, Please arrive on time so we can start promptly. We won't be able to wait for more than 5min past the start time
- Pack out everything you bring (including nut shells, fruit peels, etc.) to help keep our trails clean.
- RSVP: Only those marked as “Going” and have confirmed travel details (if requested) are eligible to attend the event.
- If your plans change and you are no longer able to attend, please update your RSVP as soon as possible.
- No-shows without prior communication may result in removal from future events.
- Weather Considerations The hike is a go rain or shine, so please be prepared for the conditions. for example, If it’s expected to rain, waterproof gear (like a jacket or shoes)
- Pets: please check with the organizer for details before bringing your pet.
