Paddling at Duffins Creek, Ajax – SUP/Kayak/Canoe – L2 (Easy)

Join us for a scenic and refreshing paddle adventure on Duffins Creek in Ajax.

This paddle is perfect for those seeking a fun, low-intensity outing on the water. Launching from Rotary Park, we’ll follow the calm creek as it winds through a mix of forested areas, wetlands, and open stretches, offering a peaceful escape just outside the city.

Duffins Creek is known for its gentle current and serene setting, with opportunities to spot herons, turtles, and other wildlife along the way. We’ll paddle upstream into the calm backwaters before turning back and letting the current carry us downstream toward the mouth of Lake Ontario. The route is rated L2/Easy and is suitable for paddlers of all experience levels. With flat water and a balance of light paddling and drifting, it’s an ideal setting to enjoy nature at a relaxed pace.

Bring your own SUP, kayak, or canoe. It’s a lovely way to enjoy the outdoors, take in some nature, and meet fellow paddling enthusiasts.

Event Guidelines:

• Punctuality, Please arrive on time so we can start promptly. We won't be able to wait for more than 5min past the start time
• Pack out everything you bring (including nut shells, fruit peels, etc.) to help keep our trails clean.
• RSVP: Only those marked as “Going” and have confirmed travel details (if requested) are eligible to attend the event.
• If your plans change and you are no longer able to attend, please update your RSVP as soon as possible.
• No-shows without prior communication may result in removal from future events.
• Weather Considerations This is a weather-dependent event. It’ll only go ahead if the forecast looks good. If there’s rain, strong wind, or anything else unfavorable, we’ll cancel and reschedule. Expect around 24 hours’ notice.
