Talk 1: Working with data in the music business
Speaker: John Rosenfelder (Business Analyst in Music/Entertainment)
Data in the music business, or is it music in the data business? Industry veteran John Rosenfelder details his transition from underground music marketer to analyst, inspired by and supported by the R programming language. How do people make decisions about music? What future problems of the business that R can help solve? This talk will provide answers as well as questions.
Talk 2: JavaScript for the R Programmer
Speaker: Alan Dipert (Software engineer on the Shiny team at RStudio)
Because of Shiny and htmlwidgets, JavaScript is an integral part of the R ecosystem. In my talk I'll introduce the JavaScript language and the tools that surround it from an R perspective. I'll also demonstrate interfacing JavaScript with R and provide resources for learning more.
