What we’re about

I don't know about you, but I'm the kind of guy who is not satisfied with just superficial interactions. I enjoy my family and a few close friends, and I'm sure there are others who enjoy deep conversations more than chit chats.

The goal of this group is to create the environment where real friendships can become real. Research shows these are the key ingredients:

  1. Time - must be willing and able to spend time together. This is not one of those "parking lot" groups where you just join but never do anything.
  2. Shared experiences - doing things together, from coffee get-togethers to someone sharing their hobby or going on local hikes or something simple like pickleball. Ski trips are great too. I am an active guy.
  3. Emotional openness - being cool about opening up about life's joys and challenges. Being supportive of others. Being willing to NOT just talk about football and TV shows. Not avoiding what's really on your mind.
  4. Reciprocity - you must be willing to initiate. Give to others, don't just be a taker. Be enthusiastic and life-giving.
  5. Shared values and interests - Be very curious and open-minded. For example, I love a good discussion on current events, but I dislike people who are dogmatic about their beliefs.

Sign up as a member, introduce yourself and what you're looking for, then we can decide when/where to meet. I am northwest of Boston in Lexington and keen to build a local group so if you must be willing to meet out here.

The starter plan has a limit of 10 so please don't join and take a spot unless you're really serious!
