About us
Who We Are
An emotionally honest Christian community for people struggling to reconcile deep faith with difficult lived experience.
Praise • Worship • Prayer • Scripture
Meeting Time and Location:
- Mondays 7pm-9pm
- Location provided with RSVP
Real Talk Christianity is a space for Christ-centered conversations about walking with Jesus through challenging seasons. We gather in the South Bay for worship, prayer, and Scripture-based discussion while making room for questions that come from a genuine desire to seek God.
This is a space for navigating weary, tested faith without being expected to have it all figured out. We don’t claim to have all the answers or try to explain away the mysteries that belong to God. Instead, we make room for the tension and wrestle through hard seasons together.
How We Gather
We believe prayer is an open conversation with God, not about saying the “right” spiritual words. Here, we come as we are.
- Settle in for ~15–20 minutes over optional snacks or a shared meal.
- Open with prayer to center our time on God’s presence and guidance.
A typical evening continues with:
- A simple check-in like, “What’s something you’re carrying into tonight?”
- Praise & worship through a contemporary song
- Scripture-centered discussion (topics in the full description below)
- Optional prayer requests
- A closing prayer to leave encouraged
Participation is always voluntary. Some people share deeply, while others simply listen and reflect.
This is an interactive, discussion-based gathering — not a lecture or formal church service. We aim to keep the atmosphere relaxed, authentic, and centered on Jesus.

Full Description & Discussion Topics:
What We Do
Praise & Worship
We begin with praise, shifting the atmosphere and welcoming the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Because we believe:
- God inhabits the praises of his people, and
- Praise precedes the victory
Scripture & Real Talk Conversations
We discuss real-life struggles, spiritual battles, and biblical truths in an honest and accessible way.
This is a place to:
- Wrestle with hard questions
- Be encouraged without shame or condemnation
- Build one another up like iron sharpens iron
- Encounter Jesus through Scripture in a practical and transformative way
Testimonies
We share testimonies to glorify God and remember His faithfulness in every season.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
Testimonies remind us:
- God is still moving in the middle of storms
- Our stories become weapons against discouragement and the enemy
Topics We Explore
As the Holy Spirit leads, we may discuss topics such as:
Faith & Identity
- Identity in Christ apart from career, relationship status, or worldly success
- Cultivating purpose and spiritual gifts
- What it means to live victoriously in Christ even when life feels difficult
Holiness & Freedom
- Biblical purity without toxic purity culture
- Obedience and righteousness without legalism
- Consecration and sanctification
- Resting in God instead of performing for Him
Spiritual Warfare & Discernment
- Walking in spiritual authority
- Developing wisdom and discernment
- Dethroning idols and minimizing distractions
- Bringing revival and becoming conduits of His blessings
Endurance Through Difficult Seasons
- When God feels distant
- Dry seasons and wilderness seasons
- Persevering through suffering and persecution
- Navigating confusion while seeking God’s direction
- Wrestling with questions like:
- “If God is with me, why am I struggling so much?”
- “Why does following Jesus still feel hard?”
Faith in Everyday Life
- Navigating hostile workplaces and environments that contradict biblical values
- Remaining faithful in a culture hostile to Christianity
- Applying Scripture practically in everyday life
Cultivating Joy and Gratitude
We seek—not to force positivity or pretend everything is okay—but to learn how to hold onto joy and gratitude even when they feel distant or hard to access.
We acknowledge:
- Joy doesn’t always come naturally in difficult seasons
- Gratitude can feel out of reach
- Struggling to feel either doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong
This can look like:
- Contentment that isn’t dependent on changing circumstances
- Holding space for both grief and hope at the same time
- Noticing small glimpses of God’s presence in ordinary or heavy moments
- Letting joy be something we grow into, not something we have to manufacture
A Place for the Weary, the Curious, and the Hungry
Whether you are:
- A new believer
- A seasoned Christian
- Deep in a valley season
- Spiritually exhausted
- Curious about Christianity
- Wrestling with disappointment, anger, grief, or confusion
…you are welcome here.
We believe nothing is too messy for God.
He meets us in sorrow, confusion, disappointment, and weakness. Though He does not promise a life free from suffering, He promises His presence within it.
