Real Talk Christianity: Coffee Chat - Elijah and the Weary Prophet
Details
About This Group
Real Talk Christianity is an interactive, discussion-based gathering—not a lecture or formal church service. We make room for questions, struggles, and doubt that come from a genuine desire to seek God.
Meeting Details
Monday, 7–9 PM | South Bay Coffee Shop Location will be sent to you once you RSVP.
What to Expect
This is the first gathering of Real Talk Christianity, an emotionally honest Christian community for people struggling to reconcile deep faith with difficult lived experience.
We’re starting with Elijah—a Bible character who embodies both spiritual power and deep exhaustion. James 5:17 says, “Elijah was a man just like us.” He stood on Mount Carmel in fire and faith, then ran into the wilderness wanting to die (1 Kings 19). God didn’t scold him; He met him with rest, food, companionship, and a gentle voice.
This night is for anyone who:
- Feels spiritually weary, tested, or distant from God
- Is questioning, doubting, or confused but still seeking
- Wants honest, Christ-centered conversation without shame or performance
- Is curious about Christianity or newly exploring faith
The Evening Flow
7:00–7:20 PM — Settle In Optional snacks / shared meal, casual connection
7:20–7:30 PM — Opening Prayer Centering our time on God’s presence and guidance

7:50–8:40 PM — Scripture & Real Talk: Elijah
We’ll read 1 Kings 19:1–18 and James 5:17, then explore:
- Where do you see yourself in Elijah’s story (the high, the low, or both)?
- What do you need from God right now that Elijah received (rest, food, companionship, a gentle word)?
Participation is always voluntary. Some share deeply; others listen and reflect.
8:40–8:55 PM — Optional Prayer Requests & Closing Prayer Leaving encouraged, not “fixed.”
