Real Talk Christianity is a spiritually serious, emotionally honest Christian community for people seeking to follow Jesus in the midst of real life.

This week we'll explore one of the Bible's most misunderstood topics: spiritual warfare. We'll be reading Ephesians 6:10–20, where Paul describes the armor of God and reminds us that our struggle is "not against flesh and blood."

Spiritual warfare isn't just about dramatic stories or extraordinary moments. Often it shows up in everyday life—through fear, discouragement, misunderstanding, temptation, division, accusation, or anything that seeks to pull us away from God and one another. The good news is that we don't fight for victory—we fight from the victory Jesus has already won.

This night is for anyone who:

  • Wants a deeper understanding of spiritual warfare from a biblical perspective
  • Has experienced spiritual opposition, discouragement, or unexpected conflict
  • Is seeking to stand firm in faith during a difficult season
  • Is curious about Christianity or exploring what the Bible teaches about the unseen spiritual reality

We'll read Ephesians 6:10–20, then explore:

  • Paul tells believers to "stand" three times in this passage. Why do you think that matters?
  • What does it practically mean to "stand firm" in your faith?
  • How does remembering that we wrestle "not against flesh and blood" change the way we respond to conflict with others?
  • Most of the armor Paul describes is defensive, with only one offensive weapon. Why might that be?
  • What is the connection between "making known the mystery of the gospel" and Paul's description of himself as "an ambassador in chains"?
  • Where have you seen spiritual warfare show up in your own life—whether through discouragement, misunderstanding, temptation, fear, or conflict?
  • How did you respond, and what did God teach you through it?

Participation is always voluntary. Some share deeply; others listen and reflect.
