Last minute Invite: AI music on Spotify! It's happening...

Details
This is last minute invite, but if you're available it's really worth a conversation as we're now entering uncharted territory for music creators.
You may’ve heard about this already, there’s a band called The Velvet Sundown that’s racked up over 1.2 million streams on Spotify in just a few weeks. None of the four musicians in the band have given any interviews, or appear to have individual social media accounts. There are also no records of any live performances.
As it turns out, the mainstream media has reported they're an AI band.
Spotify has not yet responded to a request for comment. Earlier this year, CEO Daniel Ek said he doesn’t plan to ban AI music, but he doesn't agree with using it to imitate real artists.
Meanwhile, Elton John, Dua Lipa, and others have protested how AI tools are being trained on our music without consent. They tried to push new laws in the UK, but their campaign was ultimately unsuccessful.
This tech is moving so fast, and it’s already changing how music’s made, shared, and consumed. So if you’re up for talking about what this means for us as songwriters, bands and artists, I’m inviting you to jump on a live Zoom today.
We’ll dig into:
– Who actually owns this kind of AI-generated music?
– What’s this mean for how we release our own tracks?
– What are your thoughts and comments...
I’ll be live TODAY at 8.30 BST

Meeting ID: 892 2842 4697
We’ll go for about an hour. Come and go as you like.
Hope to see you,
Ian
