Real-Time Analytics is one of the new trends in the streaming space, but it can be hard to keep track of everything, especially as it seems like new products are being released every week. In the first half of this talk, we'll give you a map to understand the space, which will hopefully make it easier to understand where current and new tools fit in the space. Once we've done that we'll show how to build a real-time analytics application for an online Pizza delivery service, with the help of lots of different Python libraries. We'll start by using the Faker library to generate users and orders, which will be loaded into MySQL and Apache Kafka respectively. We'll also publish products to a Kafka stream, before using Kafka Streams to join the orders and product streams into an enriched stream that contains full order and product details. Finally, we'll load the stream into the Apache Pinot OLAP database, and create a real-time dashboard on top of the data using Streamlit that shows the latest orders, revenue generated, and top-selling products.
