David started his career in tech with the famous phrase "sure, I mean, how hard can it be?" He'd never written a line of code. Almost 35 years later, David has worked at government institutions like Los Alamos National Lab and at both large companies like Sun Microsystems -- where he worked both as an on-stage demo presenter and in the famous Sun Labs -- and Oracle, and small, even tiny startups. Throughout his career he's focused on 2 things: learning, and helping others learn. As a self-taught engineer he has dedicated himself to helping others learn technology in ways that work for *them*. As the Head of Developer Advocacy at StarTree, David continues to promote excellence in developer experience and to make technology as widely accessible as possible.
