Is Honesty Relevant in Today's Society? Throughout history, philosophers have extolled the virtue of honesty. Aristotle viewed truthfulness as a foundational social virtue. Kant demanded absolute honesty as a strict moral duty. In our modern culture of of digital personas, deepfakes, and hyper-curated online lives, the practical value of honesty is increasingly undermined. Is radical, unfiltered honesty still a relevant ideal? Is it a value worth fighting for, or are we better served by pragmatic deception, impression management, and subjective truth?
