Auditions - Rossum's Universal Robots by Karel Capek

Announcing our next production, ROSSUM'S UNIVERSAL ROBOTS or R.U.R., by Karel Capek. This play was first performed in 1921 and introduced the word "robot" to the English language and to science fiction as a whole. Directed by Robert O'Sullivan.

REBEL CITY DRAMA CLUB AUDITIONS - Tuesday 13th January 2026 6-10pm and Wednesday 15th January 2026 6-10pm in Costigan's pub on Washington St.

For the auditions we would like a 2 - 3 minute prepared monologue (any genre) and you will cold read selected scenes for the character of your desire. Additionally, we would like to hear your thoughts on the play, character of interest and AI generally, so please read or skim through the script prior to the auditions.

Please note – this production will take place on Friday 24th, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April 2026.

Actors are essential but we also need:
1. Stage assistants
2. Dancers
3. Crew/designers
