At Improv for Singles, get ready to play and laugh with your host Thalia. You do not have to "act" so relax. If you want icebreakers and laughter instead of interviews, awkward hanging out moments, or frustrating on-line chats, this is your event! If you meet great people but are too shy to ask people out, don't worry! Post event matchups ensure that if there is a mutual interest, you will be notified. This is done anonymously so if it isn't mutual, nobody will ever know. EVENT DETAILS

*LOBBY SIGN IN - Please enter the Tiff building off John street and sign in at the desk. They will let you in. Proceed to the 10th floor. *GREETINGS (3:00 pm) - Meet me in the TIFF Cinema Lounge (10th floor) and pick up your name tag.

*IMPROV (3:15 pm) - You will enter the TIFF Cinema room. I will start with a quick intro and tips for having a successful event. Then we dive right into full group warm-up exercises. These will put you right at ease with all the new people. You will NOT be performing on stage or in front of the group alone EVER and can opt out of anything... no pressure EVER. A little later your improv exercises will break down into smaller groups. These exercises will all be very easy and amusing. Trust me! At some point you will be paired up with each person of the opposite sex, so all the singles get acquainted.

*MATCHUPS (5:00 pm) - Fill out anonymous post event match up cards. *MINGLING Once you have chosen your matches, you may leave. However, there is optional mingling and drinks in the Cinema Lounge. POST EVENT PAIRING - If you have a mutual interest you will receive an email with the contact info of your match. TIPS

  • wear comfortable clothing you can move around in
  • arrive on time as the improv will start right at 3:15pm
  • show up relaxed and ready to have fun
