Details

Meet Grovewood Village 111 Grovewood road Thursday June 19 2025 10 AM . Follow signs to Grovewood Village . Look for RFAR signs . Adjacent to The Omni Grove Park Inn is one of Asheville’s hidden gems. Known today as Grovewood Village, this historic site once housed the weaving and woodworking operations of Biltmore Industries. Now you’ll discover an arts and crafts destination that offers a glimpse into an important part of Asheville’s story. Museums are donation based ..Please help them with your contribution. Thank You. Located in the heart of Grovewood Village, the Biltmore Industries Homespun Museum traces the history of a force in American craft and textiles founded by Biltmore’s first lady, Edith Vanderbilt, and two inspired teachers. Our other museum showcases a collection of vintage automobiles dating from the romance-filled days of wooden steering wheels and polished brass headlamps. These antique beauties were owned by local legend Harry D. Blomberg, who purchased Biltmore Industries in 1953 and saved it from going under. There is the ELDR restaurant on the premises. Also picnic tables if you bring a lunch to leave in your car. We can tour the village and outdoor sculpture gardens and go over to Omni Grove Park Inn for a short visit. If you go to the Omni Grove Park Inn there is a parking garage and first hour was free the last time I was there and $10 1-3 hrs. There is the Sunset Trail you can eyeball for another time. This event is just to give you an overview so you can return and spend more time. Hope you can make it. Ben 561 425-3077 bbsdob525@aol.com
