Walk in Montford Historic area

Details

Let's meet at the Asheville Visitor Center lower level parking lot and do a partly shady walk in the historic Montford neighborhood. There is usually plenty of free public parking in the two lower levels of the Asheville Visitor Center parking lot - I'll be there with the RFAR sign. There are charging stations for electric cars on the top level.

We'll walk in the historic Montford area with big old houses and shady trees. This isn't a guided tour about the historic homes, just a chance to walk together through the neighborhood. Expect to stroll for about an hour and a half. It is not all flat but we'll be on sidewalks so water and good shoes are recommended but you probably don't need trekking poles.

The cemetery had serious damage in the storm so we won't visit it this time. We'll let them get their work done before going back.

For those who have time we can plan a group lunch at All Day Darling. They have lots of yummy food and drink options and some outdoor seating. We'll shoot to be there a little before noon but it is popular so there may be a wait and we'll likely break into small groups but it's a fun lunch spot. It is very near the Asheville Visitors Center where we plan to park.

Hope to see you at the Asheville Visitor Center - 36 Montford Ave at 10:00 on Monday, June 30.
