Catawba Falls - Two Options, Strenuous or Moderate

Details
Catawba Falls is about 25 miles east of Asheville near Exit 73 from I-40. This area reopened in late May. Some folks may choose to stay at the foot of the falls. This option is about 2 miles round trip. It's rated moderate so not a smooth stroll, this is a hike. For those who want to go to the upper falls it is about 3.5 miles round trip with lots of stairs.
We will use the River trail and the stairs for those who want to go further up. There are two wonderful bridges that make the river crossings much easier. The Wildflower and Upper Viewing Platform are still closed due to damage from the storm.
Look for RFAR signs in the parking lot. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at the falls. Hiking poles are recommended.
