Pisgah Inn to the Mount Pisgah Overlook

Hip Hip Hooray, the Blue Ridge Parkway is open from the Arboretum to the Pisgah Inn!

Let's walk along the Mountains To Sea Trail from the Pisgah Inn to the Mount Pisgah Overlook. We did this walk last summer and John showed us the remnants of the Biltmore Lodge along the trail. We'll leave a car at the Overlook so those who prefer can ride back rather than walking the round trip. The round trip is just over 2 miles so one-way is just over a mile. It is hiking but not terribly rough and only a slight elevation change.

The trail is beautiful with loads of plant life and history. After the walk we'll enjoy our picnic lunches in the chairs that look across the mountains from behind the Pisgah Inn. We can leave lunches in our cars so we only need to take water on the trail.

Sturdy footwear and trekking poles are recommended. Please no dogs on this one! It's a delicate botanical area.
