1056 Merrimon Ave · Asheville, NC . Perimeter Trail Loop. Check out this 2 mile loop trail near Asheville, North Carolina. Generally considered an easy flat route. This is a walk and not a hike so we will be stopping to take in the sites. Participants are encouraged to point out interesting sightings. This is a very popular area for birding, fishing, and paddle sports, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. Possibly you’ll see hawks, osprey, herons, vultures, kites, sparrows, woodpeckers, ducks, wrens, swallows, warblers, and bluebirds. There are a lot of bird species here according to some travel sites. . John Muir didn’t like the word ‘hike’. “We ought to saunter through them reverently, not 'hike' through them.”
Please bring happy thoughts and your good humor to enjoy this venue and leave drama and serious matters for another time. Thanks.
