Meet Wed May 20 2026 10 AM at Visitor Center 36 Montford Ave at the lower level. . Free parking and restrooms inside. Walk is about about 4 miles. Start through short section of historic Montford( We will have another walk that is only Montford later) and then downtown Av. There are some hills and this walk is nearly all on pavement. Tennis shoes are fine. Based on the conditions and terrain of this walk no dogs are allowed .
As always, bring water and wear comfortable shoes.
We can identify a lunch spot when we walk through downtown Av .
Enjoy portions of the Urban Trail through the vibrant art deco downtown and the ambience of a designated "All American City". Visit the Grove Arcade with shops and restaurants to depict its original uniqueness as an indoor shopping mall back in the 1920s. Walk by the Thomas Wolfe Home, well known author of Look Homeward, Angel and You Can't Go Home Again. Visit several old neighborhoods of Asheville and the Greenway along Reed Creek.
