Let's meet in the lobby of the Baker Center at 10am. If you bring a dog please stay outside and we'll find you before we head out for the walk.

We'll walk around the Baker Center and then briefly through the formal gardens. When we get to Frederick Law Olmstead we'll head down the hill to Bent Creek Road and then we'll head along the creekside trails and Bent Creek Road to the Carolina Mountain Trail. The last part of this walk will be uphill to the Education Center. It's about 2 miles total, maybe slightly more. The last leg is pretty steep but there are benches along the way to rest if needed. You may want hiking poles because we'll be on actual trails much of this walk. last year we were on this trail in the other direction and saw some buds on the Oconee Bells - we may luck out again this year!

Those who have time can stay and have lunch at the new cafe - The Arbor Eatery. I expect decent weather on Friday so we'll be able to sit outside where dogs can join us.

There are restrooms at the starting point in the Baker Center and also at the end point in the Education Center. No outside food is allowed in the seating area (indoors or outdoors!) of the Arbor Eatery.

If you don't have a pass and want to ride in with a member please post a comment and we'll make sure a member meets you so you can ride in for free. It is $20.00 to park if you aren't a member. Membership is $60 per year and if you pay to park that payment can be applied to your membership fee the day of your visit.
