Drug Formulation - pitfalls to avoid from the start

Details
80-% 90% of drug candidates in the R&D pipeline face formulation challenges.
An appropriate formulation will dictate the faith of the drug. No matter how efficient the drug can be in-vitro if the in-vivo formulation does not fit- it takes out that drug from your pipeline.
The questions we are going to address in this meetup will help to organize our thoughts and conception about the formulation challenges.
- When do we need to think about formulation?
- Does the formulation for in-vivo is needed? Or it is a waste of time to invest in the formulation development in that early stage?
- Is there a faster and cheaper way to test formulation for in-vivo?
- Is there a correlation between the in-vivo formulation and phase I studies?
- What the difference in formulation for in-vivo and Phase I?
- When is the best time to invest in "real" formulation development, Phase I, II or just III?
- How much it may cost to develop a formulation in each Phase?
- What formulation development is the cost-efficient for each phase?
- What are the considerations that should be taken into an account when choosing the right formulation?
Many more questions will be addressed during the evening, come prepared.
