What we’re about
Midlife Women’s Financial Empowerment Book Club
Calling all midlife ladies! Are you dreaming of retirement, but your lack of financial knowledge and confidence are making you feel unsure about when you could retire - or if you even can? Then this Meetup group is for you! Together, we’ll increase your financial knowledge so you feel empowered - while having fun with a community of like-minded women.
I'm starting things off with a finance book club.
In this book club, we’ll learn together, laugh together, and start shaping a life where we feel confident in the financial decisions we make.
Here’s the scoop:
Once a month, we’ll gather to chat about our favorite money resources. Whether it’s a book, blog, or podcast, you choose what speaks to you. The best part? There’s no pressure to read a full book, and you’ll walk away with tons of fresh ideas from other women who are gaining confidence and mastering their money, just like you.
It’s about learning.
Seriously, why wasn’t this stuff taught in school? Now’s the time to build up the skills, knowledge, and habits that will make you confident with your finances - for good.
It’s about community.
Being around other women who share your money goals and interests is a game changer. Together, we’ll support each other on the path to making our money work for us, and we’ll bring some fun into our finances while we’re at it.
It’s about action.
Every meeting, we’ll pick a small, doable action to tackle before the next meeting. One step at a time, you’ll start to feel that shift toward financial empowerment. Little actions, big changes!
There’s nothing quite like the support of a close-knit group to help you on your financial journey. Join us, and let’s get you closer to the retirement of your dreams—where you’re confident and intentional with our finances and your future! Together, we’ll make it happen.
Why a book club?
In my 40s, I hit a major financial setback that left me questioning if I’d ever be able to retire. My life changed when I realized no one was coming to save me - so I decided to be my own financial hero and save myself.
Fast forward 10 years and my money is all sorted - with retirement in sight! It can be really lonely figuring out our finances in a culture where it’s “impolite” to talk about money. That’s why I’m starting this book club - so women can have a safe space to learn about finances, talk about their challenges and share resources that resonate with them.
Managing your finances including debt, budgeting, spending, saving, negotiating and investing weren’t taught in school and they seem really complicated. The truth is that they’re simpler than you think. Join us and take concrete action towards your financial empowerment.
PS: To protect our members no investment advice will be allowed at these meetings. This is all about sharing information, tips and tricks to increase your confidence and feel empowered with your finances.
