About us
Join our Red Light District Arts & Culture Events Meetup in Amsterdam!
Red Light Arts & Culture (RLAC) is a nomadic organization that creates, produces, and curates primarily FREE events year-round! Discover a side of Red Light District, often hidden in plain sight! From time to time, we will also organize attending other events from our friends and collaborators in the area - which may be free or include a ticket price.
We cater to social, music, visual, performing, and literary artists, as well as dancers, actors, and presenters.
Through curated artistic and cultural experiences, our goal is to highlight and add to the area’s rich cultural history, living heritage, and diversity, by fostering creativity, empathy, and a sense of community.
Immerse yourself in day and night events, cultural activities, live performances, and art appreciation in the heart of Amsterdam's vibrant arts scene right in the city center!
Discover local professional musicians, dancers, artists, writers, poets, workshops, and creative ateliers! Connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for the arts and entertainment in one of the world's most eclectic cities.

A neighbourhood evening with arts and stories from Nieuwmarktbuurt and far beyond
Programme:
19:00 Doors open + bar
Short Pop-Up music-dance performances at 19:45 and 21:00
20:00 Grand opening of Buurt in Beeld exhibit + followed by live jazz music all night
Buurt in Beeld opens its doors – a photography exhibit woven from stories, faces, and moments from the Nieuwmarktbuurt's past and present. Not a gallery show with a single artist at the podium, but a collective neighborhood portrait built from the inside out.
MUSIC-DANCE THEATER PREMIERE (15min): At 2 moments, there will be the world premiere of PERSON – a new music-dance theater work by Arielle (harp) and Albert Manders (flute, co-founder RLAC). A duo that began in contemporary classical music and let improvisation, movement, and dance slowly find their way in. This is the first time the piece meets an audience.
JAZZ MUSIC Justin Zitt (piano) and Ton Felices (double bass) perform live throughout the evening – two of Amsterdam's most compelling young voices in jazz, bringing bold harmonic language and spontaneous energy to the room.
FREE | The building is barrier-free and fully wheelchair accessible.
A co-production of Red Light Arts & Culture × Boomsspijker
