The Tough Road to D̶e̶s̶i̶g̶n̶ Leadership
Details
Transitioning from individual contributor (IC) to your first leadership gig can be an exciting but daunting change. Whilst we aspire to progress and seek opportunities to lead, we need to recognise that leadership is a fundamentally different role. As designers/engineers/others who are looking to take that leap, ahead lies a journey of twists and turns and emotional highs and lows, where we seek to survive and ultimately thrive as new leaders. This talk follows my personal journey, having made that transition, where I’ll account for the lessons I’ve learnt over the past 4 years and share my insights for new and aspiring leaders alike.
