Introduction to Meditation: All Skill Levels Welcome
Details
Meditation is a practice designed to build concentration and develop greater awareness. It can be a great aid toward generating feelings of happiness while simultaneously reducing suffering. Learning to practice in this way helps us manage the stresses of our day-to-day and navigate the anxieties of modern living.
Our group welcomes all people of all beliefs. In this practice, we learn to let go of the constant preoccupations of the mind and instead incline it toward kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity.
If this sounds interesting to you, please join us for our free meditation sessions at the Redmond Library. You are welcome to bring a comfy pillow or cushion, or you can use the chairs provided if you prefer not to sit on the floor.
The hour will consist of a short intro, practice, and then a few minutes for questions and sharing.
As we only have the space for one hour, we will begin promptly. If you're late and the practice is underway, please feel free to come in and join.
This group is led by Redmond resident Austin, who has many years of experience practicing and leading meditations.
