Let's Learn!

IN-PERSON EVENT in Downtown Phoenix.

Let’s Learn is a weekly, in-person collaborative philosophy group that discusses a pre-planned, undisclosed topic. Our goal is to learn about each other, ourselves, and how we constructed our worldviews. We do not debate or take take sides. We just talk and discuss things that relate to being a human.

No topic is off-limit, but I do bring my 15+ plus years of teaching experience to the group, acting as a moderator, to ensure that all attendees feel respected as we discuss the issue of the day.

Here’s a list of some of the topics we’ve discussed in our weekly 90-minute sessions:

· Data privacy, advice, courtesy, childhood goals, marriage & divorce, conflict, fears, and isolation.

· Truth, mistakes, public speaking, revenge, mortality, morality, humor, success and failure.

· Anger, murder, coincidences, continuity of self-identity, addiction, compulsion and habits.

· Opinions, memory, sacredness, self-esteem, the social contract, and animism.

· We’ve even split the hair between presumptions & assumptions (Yes, they’re different!)

But the topic doesn’t matter. We could discuss dog-poop and ridiculously amicable clan would still run out of time, with people dying to share more opinions.

Why join? Because in our modern society, spending quality, in-person time with others is just what the doctor ordered. Like a frog in slowly-boiling water, we’ve become conditioned to a post-COVID, isolated, digital existence that is wreaking havoc on our mental health and community is the only cure.

We meet every week at an office with a lease, so for liability purposes, we require all new attendees to register at The MikeyOpp Academy. Don't worry, it's free, and we won't SPAM you.
