Wheels up and Reels Rolling!

Hello fellow cinephiles! To kick things off we have an underrated classic, The Blob (1988). When a mysterious blob appears in a small American town, a group of plucky teenagers take it upon themselves to stop the encroaching threat. This remake of the 50s classic from Frank Darabont (Director of The Shawshank Redemption) is full of horror, suspense, and surprisingly action.

This small tour will bring us on a route from Croton to Wassaic, stopping at private campground for the night. The route will bring us to a few featured landmarks, towns, and eateries. We will be passing by the Croton Dam, Mahopac, Brewster, Pawling, and Kent along the way. The campsite is a short 6 mile ride downhill to the Wassaic Train station for the return trip home and lines up with the Harlem Valley Rail Trail for anyone looking to do a full ride the following day.

We will meet in Grand Central station at around 6:55 AM for the 7:25 AM train to Croton-Harmon, the starting location of the trail. For all other attendees, we shall arrive in Croton-Harmon at around 8:45 AM and depart at 9:00 AM.

This is something of a short turnaround as it is somewhat weather dependent. Thankfully the weather this weekend is looking sunny and in the low 60s. It will still be going into the mid 30s overnight so please bring warm sleeping gear if you intend to camp.
