PSPS EcoTeam Work Party
Details
Come join Pacific Spirit Park Society’s (PSPS) EcoTeam this Saturday to participate in some hands-on environmental restoration! We are starting work at a new location along Imperial Trail to remove the invasive species Himalayan blackberry to restore the forest.
Saturday February 7th, 2026 from 12:30pm - 3:30pm
Tools and gloves will be provided. Please bring sturdy boots and dress for the weather as we will be getting dirty rain or shine! Long pants are highly recommended as there are prickly plants on site.
Snacks and refreshments will be served halfway through during our break but we ask that you bring water to stay hydrated while you are working.
Under 19?: Please make sure to have our Parent or Guardian Permission Form signed and returned to us via email.
If you have any questions, please email[ volunteer@pacificspiritparksociety.org](http://volunteer@pacificspiritparksociety.org/).
About the Site:
We are returning to a site that EcoTeam had worked on several years ago. Geotextile was laid down to inhibit regrowth of invasive plants like Himalayan blackberry. Last fall, the area was densely planted with native trees and bushes. We will now be clearing the area between this ecologically restored area and the tree line that has been invaded by Himalayan blackberry.
Please RSVP to attend.
Meet-up location info: New Location!!! Meet at the Pacific Spirit Park info kiosk at the Imperial trailhead where Imperial drive turns into 29th ave (Near King Edward) at 12:30 sharp. We will then walk to the work site, 60 meters West down Imperial Trail.
There is a public washroom and a bike rack on site.
If you are coming by vehicle there is parking along 29th ave next to the park and on King Edward ave. Please make sure to read the street signs to avoid a ticket.
If you are coming by transit, the closest stops are on WB W 16 Ave @ Discovery St and Dunbar St @ W King Edward Ave.
Thank you again to all our amazing volunteers for your hard work removing invasive plants and restoring the park!
