We are digging up blackberries and cleaning up garbage in West Creek Wetlands Park Reserve every other Tuesday and would love the help! This project is on year 11 of removing blackberries from this reserve that isn't accessible to the public and we are making great strides (in just one 2 hour session last year we have moved further down the trail than we did in the entire season in year 1 - diligence pays off and the forest is happy).

We are also working to remove forgotten irrigation pipes and map and control English holly.

The site can be wet, we suggest boots and maybe a change of socks when you get back to your vehicle! We will bring shovels, clippers and gloves but if you have your own you prefer, please bring them.

Please contact stewardship@leps.bc.ca for info or to register. We cancel in snow and strong winds. It is too hard to find the blackberries under the snow and we are working under a lot of older alder and cottonwood so wind can be a safety issue. If you don't register, we can't let you know if the event is cancelled.
