OK, we are Good to Go for Thursday the 16th ! We have an exciting roster of speakers, a great venue, and we are ready to jump back into the ring...

After reaching out to the operational team at Innovation Pavilion (http://www.innovationpavilion.com/), and explaining our need for a new "home", they have agreed to roll out the welcome mat ! So, we will be testing out our RA Group Meetup format in their exclusive Executive Board Room. (See the Details Below).

Our Theme for the meeting is:

"Alternative Investment Strategies for Progressive Entrepreneurs and Their Backers".

We've been "off the radar" for many months due to project and client commitments, and we were itching to get back into our monthly groove of "High-Impact, Investor-Friendly & Entrepreneur-Enabled" meetings. so, here is the line-up for this months meetup:

  1. Featured Business and Investment Speaker(s):

CK Futures, LLC

And to kick of our October meeting will be a very special set of guest speakers from CK Futures, LLC (of Salt Lake City, UT and Denver, CO) Mr. Crispin Dalsing and Mr. Brad Pemberton who will be on hand to provide a high-level overview of a unique "SIF" (Structured Investment Fund) opportunity for private equity investors to lower their risk profiles through innovative alternative investments that are traditionally limited to ultra high net worth individuals, corporations and governmental entities.

Below is a quick "overview" to give you an idea of what CK is developing and offering now which they will cover in-depth:

CK saw a need for integrating a very successful European investment model with the US private equity market. By combining the US and European models, CK was able to create a structure to allow informed investors to participate in strategies and products reserved for ultra high net worth individuals, corporations, and governmental entities. This structure allows the informed investor to lower their risk profile by participating in strategies that are not available on the retail level.

  1. First Entrepreneurial Speaker:

William Streeter, Founder/President, UOR Technology

Our process is called Underground Oil Recovery (UOR). What is UOR? This is a process that uses underground openings, like tunnels and chambers, as a drilling platform. The openings perform in the same way as an offshore oil platform in providing a place for drilling and oil recovery operations to take place. Picture a conventional oil well, drilled from the surface with a pump to get the oil out of the ground. Yet surface systems often leave 2/3rd of the oil behind.

Our proven process of using underground drilling platforms will recover more of the oil remaining in reservoirs at competitive or lower cost than if you try to get it from the surface. We can achieve these results because of the unique in-field methods, customized equipment, and operational improvements we utilize. These are proven technologies that are both safe and environmentally friendly. With these processes, oil and gas companies can recover petroleum resources from:

• Mature fields

• Reservoirs with geologic complexities, and

• Deposits where access to the area over the oil deposit is restricted because of restrictions such as urban development, parks, environmentally sensitive areas, and areas under large bodies of water, including offshore.

Will Streeter is a Mining Engineer who has developed innovative ways to use mining to recover oil and gas resources that are difficult to produce using conventional drilling techniques.

  1. Second Entrepreneurial Speaker: Mr. Mike Schmidt, Ensemble Ventures, LLC

Mr. Schmidt is serving as the Director of Business Development for DigiContractor Corporation

Mr. Schmidt will be presenting an overview of: “uPhotoMeasure.com” A Photo Measurement Software and SaaS Solution.

http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/9/2/c/4/600_281617572.jpeg

DigiContractor Corporation was started in 2005 by its founder, Paul Minor, a Los Angeles developer/contractor, who realized much time, labor, energy and “real” money was being wasted traveling to “estimate & quote” construction or remodeling jobs. There had to be a better way to measure jobs…and as a result, UPHOTOMEASURE software, a powerful photo measurement application was envisioned.

A patent was applied for in April 2005 and amended for wireless & camera applications in 2009. The Patent was approved in March 2011 Patent # 7,912,320.

Software Development Started in 2006 when Paul invested his own money and hired a developer to create a PC Windows-based solution. The company began sales in late 2007. In 2009 DigiContractor was granted a technology license from NASA, for photogrammetric software algorithms (that were developed after the Challenger Shuttle Disaster in 1986 to measure debris coming off the shuttle from videos and photos).

In 2010, DigiContractor embarked on a PC to SaaS Conversion process where they converted their desktop software into a SaaS Multi-tenant solution. After a year of development and testing the solution was launched as a SaaS solution and the company has been selling online ever since and has acquired between 300-400 clients overall through the years.

Mr. Schmidt will provide an update on the companies current status and go to market strategy.

Looking forward to seeing many of our new members !

Regards,

Mike Schmidt, Chair
