Does Having a Spiritual Connection Matter?

Our Discussion Topic: When you form a relationship with someone, does it matter to you whether you have a spiritual connection or spiritual beliefs and practices in common? If the relationship then becomes a marriage, does a spiritual connection become more important to you? How would similar or different spiritual beliefs and practices affect raising children?
