This group is hosted by volunteers from the Watercolour Society of Queensland (WSQ), a not‑for‑profit arts organisation.
Our Meetup events are designed to be friendly, relaxed opportunities to explore and enjoy watercolour in a supportive, social setting. Unfortunately, we don't have tutors available at all the sessions, but our members are happy to help when they can.
Newcomers to watercolour are warmly welcomed and encouraged; no experience is required.

Balonne Shire Art Paint Out – Community Day (St George, QLD)
Balonne Shire Art Paint Out on the Banks of the Balonne River, St Georges Terrace from Grey Street to Barlee Street, Saint George, AUThe Balonne Shire ART Paint Out is a relaxed, shire-wide creative event welcoming artists of all levels and all mediums. Set on the banks of the Balonne River in St George, it is a celebration of place, people, and creativity.
The centrepiece is the ART Paint Out Day on Sunday 26 April, with artists painting and drawing in designated areas along the Balonne River, either individually or in groups, at their own pace. You may work from the landscape or use your own reference images. Guidance from established artists is available if desired.
The public is warmly invited to stroll the riverbank, watch artists at work, and contribute to a large-scale collaborative artwork. All proceeds support young artists in the Balonne Shire.🖌 What to expect:
- Plein air painting at selected local locations
- A friendly, supportive group of artists
- A relaxed, welcoming atmosphere
- Suitable for all levels, including beginners

📍 Location:
Along the Balonne River, St Georges Terrace, St George, Queensland. The paint out will be held in the area between St George Terrace and the Balonne Highway and between Grey Street and Barlee Street. Registrations on the day will be taken at the Amphitheatre.This Meetup listing is focused on the Saturday community paint‑out day.

Relaxed Watercolour & Sketch Night – Bring Your Own Creative Project
ST Davids Neighbourhood Centre, 68 Orange Grove Rd, Coopers Plains, QL, AUThis is a relaxed, welcoming evening for people who enjoy creating art in a friendly, social setting.
While many people work in watercolour, you’re also very welcome to bring sketching, drawing, journaling, or another quiet art practice. There’s no formal instruction and no pressure — just shared creative time.🖌 What to expect:

Thursday Morning – Casual Watercolour Painting (Tarragindi)
Wellers Hill Art Hub, 140 Weller Road, Tarragindi, Brisbane, AUEnjoy a calm and creative start to your day with relaxed watercolour painting in friendly company.
These Thursday morning sessions are informal and welcoming, with plenty of time to paint at your own pace and enjoy conversation with others who love watercolour.

A lite morning tea is provided, and there is a small fridge, kettle, and microwave if you would like to bring something more substantial or have special dietary needs. We have an elevator onsite, but it is currently undergoing repairs.🚗 Parking:
Parking on site, but spots at the top of the hill directly in front of the building are limited. We try to reserve them for members with mobility challenges.
