What we’re about
Are you looking for Christian community for singles in the Vernon Hills area?
We are a diverse group of singles from Redeemer Life Church (www.redeemerlife.com) which will launch in August of this year. We plan to meet on Thursday nights in a home setting. We want to reconnect through real relationship with God and through experiencing connections with others within our group, while experiencing total grace, acceptance, and forgiveness. Ultimately, we hope to learn and experience the value of obedience to God as we learn new principles and ways for living that we could not have discovered on our own.
Connection, development, accountability, and support are the key values we seek to live out through the relationships we have with others. We also will be holding various fun social events such as ice skating or our annual Valentine's Coffeehouse. If you find that these values interest you, please join us in this pursuit to learn and grow together as Christians.

See all- Five Rules to Subvert the Culture of Contempt (via Zoom!)Vernon Hills, Vernon Hills, IL
Divisive politicians. Hateful pundits. Angry campus activists. Twitter trolls. We are living in a "culture of contempt" where we are developing the habit of seeing people who disagree with us not as merely incorrect, but as ignorant and worthless. Yet the Apostle Paul makes the extraordinary claim that "the whole law is fulfilled in one word: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'” (Galatians 5:14)
Civility and tolerance shouldn't be our goals, because they are hopelessly low standards. Rather, we'll explore a biblical road map to find the happiness that comes when we choose to love one another despite our differences.
Join us this Thursday as our ROC small group continues our new discussion series, Love Your Enemies: The Struggle Against the Pandemic of Contempt
The format at our get-togethers is very relaxed and conversational. Each Thursday we will explore a topic, then answer questions together to both understand and apply what we are learning:
- 7:00 PM: In-person and welcome
- 7:10 PM: Discussion
- 7:50 PM: Share 'n Prayer (men & women subgroups)
- 8:15 PM: Announcements and end
Come as you are--there's nothing for you to prepare each week, and you can participate at whatever level you feel comfortable.
Please let us know (ryoon1@gmail.com or text 847-845-4133 or DM here) for our Zoom link.
