What we’re about

Are you a Millennial single looking for more than just small talk?

We’re a group of Christ-followers in Lake County who want to create a safe, welcoming space for authentic friendships, honest questions, and growing together in faith.
This isn’t about “churchy” programs—it’s about real community. Whether you’ve been in church your whole life or you’re just curious about faith, you’re welcome here.

### What to Expect

  • 🍰 Casual hangouts with food, laughter, and conversations that matter
  • 📖 Bible studies that connect Scripture to everyday life (stress, dating, purpose, etc.)
  • Faith & Conversation nights at coffee shops—low-pressure, great for newcomers
  • 🙌 Service projects & socials (hikes, game nights, movie nights)

Come as you are. Leave encouraged. Find people who care.

  • Annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Potluck

    Annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Potluck

Vernon Hills, 887 N Milwaukee Ave, IL, US

This is our big annual Christmas party with our sister bible study/book club groups, Crossroads and Koinonia, on Saturday, December 13. It will be a pot-luck dinner at 6 PM in Vernon Hills.

Rather than finding something in the basement to give away, for our White Elephant gift exchange, let's set a bought gift price of $15 (not too expensive, yet enough to be creative). As always, the White Elephant gift exchange is purely optional.

For fun, we will also have an Ugly Sweater contest. Prizes await those with the ugliest and most creative attire.

Don't be a stranger! Please DM us to get location details.

  • Book Club Discussion: Making a Marriage (Chapters 11-12)

Book Club Discussion: Making a Marriage (Chapters 11-12)

Panera Bread, 700 N Milwaukee Ave, Vernon Hills, IL, US

In The Sacred Search, Gary Thomas challenges us to think beyond finding a "soul mate" and to look for a "sole mate"--someone who will walk with them on their spiritual journey. Turning conventional dating wisdom upside-down, Thomas asks: What if there’s no such thing as "the one"--there's something even better in God's plan? What if being "in love" isn't a good enough reason to get married? What if God designed marriage to make us holy rather than happy?

The Sacred Search casts a vision for building a relationship around a shared spiritual mission--and making a marriage with eternity at its heart. Join us next Thursday as our ROC Millennials singles group explores how dating should be a spiritual journey rather than an emotional pursuit, as we challenge cultural assumptions about romance with biblical discernment.

    📖 When: 7:00 PM, Thursday, January 8
📍 Where: Panera Bread in Vernon Hills

Come as you are! Unlike most book clubs, no advance reading is required. Each week we'll provide a summary sheet of the reading so even newcomers can easily jump in and join the discussion.

Our gatherings are relaxed and conversational. Each session stands on its own, so you can come once or often:

Bring a friend or come on your own. If you need help finding us call or text 847-845-4133.

Our ROC Christian book club is a place for millennial singles (30s-40s) to connect, share faith, and build community.
