What we’re about
The Remote TDD Practice Group offers you a safe setting to get to know Test-Driven Development and Ensemble Programming in an uncomplicated way and to try out advanced TDD techniques together.
In test-driven development (TDD), automated tests are written before the actual production code. This results in high-quality code that is easier to adapt and expand with refactorings thanks to the good test coverage.
Ensemble programming (also known as mob programming) is a collaborative working method in which the development team works together on the same problem at the same time.
Who is the group for?
- Are you interested in test-driven development, but books and online tutorials are not your thing?
- Have you tried test-driven development before, but want to get beyond the basics and exchange ideas with others?
- Have you always wanted to try out ensemble programming or pair programming, but don't have the opportunity to do so in your job?
Then this group is the right place for you!
The meetup takes place online. We use Whereby as a video conferencing tool and Visual Studio Code Live Share for collaborative editing of source code. The default language of the meetup is English. Depending on the participants we will switch to German in the events.
The events are held with different programming languages, e.g. C#, Java, JavaScript, C++ or Python. Depending on the topic, certain languages are more suitable than others. In most cases, simple language elements are sufficient for solving the programming tasks together. You are also welcome if you are not so familiar with the specific programming language.
This Code of Conduct (English)/Code of Conduct (German) applies to the Remote TDD Practice Group.
