This Sunday is Mother's Day, so our next Sunday Walk will be the following week.

We'll be heading over to Melbourne’s second largest river, the Maribyrnong. Here we’ll discover a popular, wide-open, new walking trail alongside the picturesque banks of this old Melbourne trading port.

At the halfway point, we’ll stop for coffee on the lawns of the Boathouse Cafe.

Start: Footscray Park, Myers Rd, Footscray.
Start time: 9.00 AM.

Parking: Park in The Edgewater carpark, on Myers Rd. Parking is free.

The Walk: The walk is the well-formed walking trail along the riverbank. We’ll walk as far as the Boathouse Cafe, stop for coffee and return by the same trail.

Total distance: 5.6 km.
Time: Allow 2.0 hours for the walk, plus half hour for coffee. Total 2.5 hours.

Toilets: At the 20-minute mark from the start, plus halfway at the cafe.
