Downtown Whitewater Community Update

There will be the monthly 3rd Thursday Meeting at the West Street Market this next Thursday Evening at the West Street Market at 158 West Street. The meeting will be in the back room. The discussion will be regarding efforts to get funding to make the Wingfield Whitewater Park more useable for locals and visitors. After this summers bridges project was finished there were concerns on the North Channel regarding drops Number 2, 3, 4 and 5 that are creating currently no longer as usable as they were when the park opened 20 plus years ago.
Locals have been working with the Reno City Council, Parks Department and various staffs to work towards getting some much needed repairs to make the paddling experience great again.

Also note that the former Reno Whitewater Club which created these 3rd Thursday events is now the Nevada Whitewater Association. The event start with a social hour at 6pm and the meeting will start at 7pm. As always there are food and drink at the West Street Market. Come on down and meet your paddling neighbors.
