Picnic Rock View Loop via Tahoe Rim Trail and Martis Tie Road

Picnic Rock View Loop via Tahoe Rim Trail and Martis Tie Road is 5.5 mile, with a elevation gain of 833 feet, This loop will take you up to a unique rock formation known as Picnic Rock. The formation is located atop a peak at 7776 feet in elevation. A short spur off of the Tahoe Rim Trail will take you to Picnic Rock. This point is a great spot to stop and take a break, or a photo opportunity.

Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

For those of you who might be interested in car pooling up to the trailhead, we'll meet at 8:00 in between the IHOP and Instant Smog on North McCarran Blvd (take Sierra Highlands Dr) . If you are not interested in carpooling, show up at the IHOP and we can caravan to the trailhead. We’ll depart from the IHOP at 8:15
