Showers Lake via the PCT

Enjoy this incredible hike from just below Carson Pass on Highway 88 to Showers Lake. The Hike is 10.2 miles, with 1,371 elevation gain and is estimated to take a little over 4 hours plus driving time. It includes fantastic views of the surrounding peaks, Caples Lake, and Lake Tahoe, and is an excellent swimming destination in the summer, plus a great snow camping destination in the winter. The trail is well-marked and well-maintained.

For those of you who might be interested in car pooling up to Shower Lake Trailhad, we'll meet at 7:45 and we’ll leave at 8:00 at the Park N Ride on the south side of the Summit Mall. If you are not interested in carpooling, show up at the Park n Ride and we can caravan up the hill. If you have a question on where we are meeting, please send me an message on Meetup.

Bring plenty of water and something for lunch and snack.

Dogs need to be on a leash and picked up after. If the dog can demonstrate that it is under total voice control of the owner, then the leash can be removed at the discretion of the trip Organizer.
