Known for its casual atmosphere and long-standing great pizza and apps, Casale's Halfway Club on Reno's east side, has the reputation of the longest restauranteur-owner, the late great Mama Inez. Previously closed in memoriam to Mama and then her son's sudden covid death, it's been reopened and going great with family members at the helm.

From her site: "She was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Governor of Nevada and the restaurant has been recognized as the oldest family- owned and continuously functional restaurant in Reno. The decor is simple and original with good seating space. At Casale's, “If Mama Ain’t Happy, Ain’t Nobody Happy, ” goes the motto written over the arched entrance door. The menu here features traditional Italian recipes, including the scrumptious pizza, ravioli, hand- made sandwiches, lasagna and spaghetti, all featuring the cooking expertise passed on by Mama."
