Truckee Ride on Legacy Trail and Donner Pass

Details

This ride will start at the Truckee Legacy Trail Parking Lot on Glenshire. This parking lot is on the left hand side of Glenshire about 3.9 miles on Glenshire after you get off the freeway at the Hirshdale exit.

We will take the Legacy Trail for a long way and wind over using it to South Shore Drive and go around Donner Lake. We will ascend the Donner Pass and continue to the Serene Lakes area. We will try to minimize our time on Soda Springs Road by taking residential roads as soon as possible to shorten our time on this bumpy road. We will circle Serene Lake and head back to the pass and stop at the Donner Lake overlook. We will then descend Donner Lake pass and continue on Donner Pass road past the lake and rejoin the Legacy trail and navigate back to the start.

Please note that I am traveling this week and have some fine adjustments that need to be made to the route. These will be finished by Wednesday night. But the distance and climbing of what is here are close to the final and the general route is close to what we will use.
It will be possible for people to shorten the route by skipping the portion up Donner Pass.
