What we’re about

We are beginning to heat up and become active once more [August 2020], but with some slight changes to locations.

We will host games periodically at in Pierce County at 7 Seas Brewery ; and the hosts home in Lake Tapps/Bonney Lake area; and from time to time in Renton brewery locations as we have historically in the past. The two locations we still favor, The Hop Garden in Downtown Renton and the Brewmaster's Tap Room on Benson Road in Renton. We are also looking for alternative locations with fewer restrictions and the ability to play indoors as the weather turns cooler and wetter.

If you have a perfect venue to host a game in South King County area including Renton, please let us know. We would like to continue to be support the Renton area members. Current pandemic in 2020 has made it challenging but with your support and recommendations, we can organize regular events once again.

In this new world reality, we are slowly trying to find safe and convenient public locations to meet and play board games. Current restrictions at all public places due to WA Health mandates requires that all attendees ensure they are not carrying a dangerous illness, contagious, showing signs of sickness, or exposed to a known ill person. Establishments require masks covering nose and mouth while not seated at the table, limited to no more than five (5) people, and typically must sit outdoors. This makes for a challenging gathering.

If you want to host a weekend game group, or know of a venue that would be great for us to meet, please contact us so we can set you up as a group host or so we can schedule the event.

Please check out our current posted events, which will vary widely by date, time and location while we re-establish a gaming meetup.

For nearly a year, we met at the Brewmasters Tap Room: 2000 Benson Rd. S, Renton WA 98055. This location allows children and dogs in their taproom. But, between October and January and periodically from time to time, they would close their tap room for private parties and it became difficult reliably meet here.

We then started meeting at the Hop Garden in Dowtown Renton, but due to COVID, those meetings were placed on hold. We now periodically meet at the Hop Garden, weather permitting (outdoor seating). They have a great selection of affordable beer and a wide range of food and appetizers. But, we need a better less restrictive meeting place.

This group is for like-minded* adults who enjoy euro and modern board games similar to Dixit, Istanbul, Catan, Carcassonne, Samurai, Small World, Splendor, The Red Dragon Inn, and a few more recent additions: Las Vegas, Sagrada, Azul, Africana — Just to name a few. Limited to 21+ due to potential alcohol consumption.

*Like-minded individuals that may be professional (9 to 5ers), mature (21+ with life experiences), stable (not prone to emotional outbursts unless it's a real tear-jerker), not easily offended (unless it's warranted) and looking to join a regular bi-weekly or monthly group to participate in and learn new popular board games, have their own collection of board games to bring to and share with other members. Must be respectful of others and their opinions and differences (but not necessarily agree). Please join us if you don't mind the moderate drinker and want to not only play wonderful board games but engage in light-hearted and deeper discussions. Any smoking would need to be outside venue.
