Citadel Building Contest (Cash Prize)

Details

Let's hold a building contest for an epic citadel!

At least THREE groups of builders must formally enter the contest by EOD 10/7/2023. I shared this information on Discord last night, and there's already interest there.

If at least three groups are named (yes, name your group!) in time, then the contest officially begins 10/8/2023!

The deadline for completing your citadel is New Year's Eve. The first place winner will receive $150. The second place winner will receive $50. Your rewards will be paid via PayPal or USDT crypto (your choice).

By EOD 10/7/2023, please provide:
1. Your team name.
2. The player names on your team.
3. The location of your build and the theme of your citadel.
4. The "palette" of blocks you'll be using in your theme.

You will receive two double chests of your two primary building materials, based on your palette, on 10/8/2023 at your specified build site.

RULES:
1. Find a new area for building. No other player's builds should be visible from your location.
2. Natural villages may be within sight, but please separately from any nearby villages.
3. The "footprint" of your citadel should make use of a space that is at least 50x50 blocks. This doesn't mean that you're building a solid box that is 50x50 blocks, but it does mean that you should find ways to creatively make use of that space so that some parts of your citadel do reach those boundaries.
4. Your citadel must be at least 100 blocks tall. You can't just build a 1x1 tower of blocks to meet the requirement. Be creative and make use of the space in a meaningful way!
5. Pick terrain where you want to build with the theme of that terrain. If you pick mountains, then build a citadel that makes use of the mountainous terrain. If you pick a desert, your palette should primarily consist of sandstone variants. Don't just level out a space and build a citadel that visually clashes against its surroundings.
6. Your citadel's location should be more than 2K blocks from the origin but not more than 10K blocks from the origin.

END OF CONTEST:
1. I will ask an impartial third party to judge the builds. That third party will not know anything about the individual builders. The builds will be judged exclusively based upon how they look, whether they followed the rules and their own designated palettes, and how they compare to each other.
2. The winners will receive their rewards via PayPal or USDT. I will send the rewards to the leader of each team. It will be the responsibility of the leader to split up the rewards further as necessary.
3. The winning citadels will be protected in factions for all to see but not modify.
4. If requested, I will send copies of the Minecraft region files containing the winning citadels to the builders of those citadels after the contest ends.

If you're interested, please let me know by EOD 10/7/2023. The date/time of this Meetup "event" indicates the deadline for entering the building contest.
