We will meet on March 22, 2026 in a new venue, the Lavender Room at the Somerville Armory, to discuss incentives for scientists to admit mistakes.

Our assumption is that some reproducibility crises and scientific fraud cases originate with inadvertent errors or errors of judgment that should not be too hard to admit. But some prestige discovery claims are too big to fail, bringing in funding, credit and helping build the brand of a laboratory. How can we change science and scientific communication to address this?

When you find the Armory at 191 Highland Ave in Somerville, please come down to the basement and look for the room with the baby grand.
