What we’re about
This group is a safe, compassionate, and patient space created especially for rescue dogs who are learning to be dogs again.
We understand that many rescue pups come with a mysterious past. They might be shy, a little anxious, or simply unsure of how to interact with other canines. Our mission is to provide a calm, positive, and low-pressure environment where they can build confidence, practice their social skills, and make new friends (both human and canine!) at their own pace.
This is a community built on patience, positive reinforcement, and a whole lot of love for our resilient companions.
Who Should Join?
You and your rescue dog! Whether you adopted them yesterday or years ago.
Dogs who are shy, timid, or under-socialized and could benefit from gentle exposure to other calm dogs.
"Pandemic puppies" who missed out on early socialization.
Patient owners who are committed to advocating for their dog's comfort and are happy to go at their dog's speed.
What Our Meetups Look Like:
Our events are designed to be low-stress. Think less "chaotic dog park" and more "zen garden for dogs." Activities may include:
Parallel Walks: Walking as a group with plenty of space between dogs.
"Sniffaris": Loose-leash group strolls focused on sniffing and exploring.
Calm Hangouts: Relaxing in a quiet, fenced-in area where dogs can choose to interact or just co-exist peacefully.
⭐ Our Most Important Rule: A Safe Space for All ⭐
To protect the emotional well-being of our sensitive members, this group is strictly for non-aggressive dogs. We are here to build confidence, and a single negative experience can be a major setback for a fearful dog.
Therefore, this group is not the right fit for dogs with:
A history of dog-to-dog aggression.
Leash reactivity (lunging, barking, growling at other dogs on leash).
A known bite history with people or other animals.
We appreciate your understanding in helping us maintain a sanctuary of comfort and positive experiences for every dog.
If you're ready to help your deserving rescue dog blossom, we can't wait to meet you both!
