TALKS (20mins each + a Q&A)

Gabe Fender, Principal Consultant: Product & Design, Thoughtworks

Building a responsible mindset: activities to engage the whole team.
The Responsible Tech Playbook is an open collection of practical tools from various organisations that everyone can use, regardless of role. We believe this will create a shift in the responsibility of thinking about security, inclusivity, privacy and sustainability from a few experts to the whole team. Recently, we worked with the UN to build their own playbook to help the organisation and its leaders promote a more sustainable and inclusive future through its culture and practices.

In this session, Gabe will cover a brief overview of the Responsible Tech Playbook and then get participants hands-on with one of the activities focused on accessibility and inclusion.

Emma Dyer, Senior User Researcher, Alzheimer's Society

Cognitive differences, dementia and accessibility, how to improve online services for those who don't fit the norm.
A look into some of the work the Alzheimer's Society Digital Innovation Team have been doing to understand the wide spectrum of cognitive differences in their audience and how this translates into actionable insights.

Emma is a socially focused user researcher specialising in ageing and accessibility.
