COMMUNITY CIDER PRESSING DAY @ Mt. Joy Orchard

Details

Y'all, this is what it's all about - Community cider pressing!

Mt. Joy Orchard is hosting its first community cider pressing to celebrate the bounty of the growing season AND the amazing community that works together to steward this space. We will gather at the orchard to press cider using apples from the orchard as well as fruit gathered from feral trees and backyard orchards. Everyone is invited to join in the fun - bring any apples you have/are able to collect at your home, in your neighborhood, or in the wild spaces around you! We are grateful to Sweetser's Apple Barrel & Orchard in Cumberland for allowing us to glean apples to supplement whatever our community can gather.

If you are able, please bring a clean jar or jug to bring home some cider as well as any apples you can collect to process into cider. Apples don't need to be in great shape, but shouldn't be rotten or heavily damaged.

Rain date October 16th.

***This event is officially hosted by The Mt. Joy Orchard. The orchard is maintained by a cohort of local organizers who communicate regularly to ensure the ongoing health of the space. The Resilience Hub is happy to use its Meetup platform to boost the visibility of these community offerings - please reach out to nick@resiliencehub.org or eileen@resiliencehub.org about any event outreach requests!***
