Wild Women Write: Beginner's Mind

Details
*Applications due Friday, January 5 - first session is Monday January 15. It's free to apply!*
This is a six-week online group for all writers - beginners especially welcome!
What would your writing be like if you set aside what you think you know about...
... yourself as a writer?
... your strengths and weaknesses?
... what 'good' writing even is?
## January 2024: Beginner's Mind
If you are starting a new creative process, are new to creative writing, returning to writing after a break, or just feel like pressing your internal 'reset' button in the new year, this group could be just what you need!
This writing group isn't for everyone.
This group is for women who want to stretch the depth and range of their writing. It's for women who want to give themselves these priceless gifts:
- playfulness and experimentation with your writing
- creative community
- accountability
- beginner's mindset
- priority to your unique stories
What are people saying about Wild Women Write?
"The last Wild Women Write group helped me find my writing voice and gave me the confidence to write my stories. I found a group of women who fearlessly dug deep, wrote, listened, and shared. I learned through them to be courageous with my writing!
"Sarah created a safe and inspiring place for us to share and listen. I discovered that writing is healing for me. I can't wait to hear more stories and commit to telling mine. This is the right push to start the year writing with commitment and confidence!"
- Simona Ioannoni, 2023 Wild Writer
Writing is a journey into your darkest corners and wildest places. To adopt a beginner's mind is to agree to be a fool sometimes, to not know before you pick up the pen, to look deeply inside and write without any filters.
If you normally plan or outline before you write, this group will feel like a challenge. If you prefer to write 'by the seat of your pants', you are in a great position to inspire other women with your writing!
The writing you do while in this group will organically lead you to your unfiltered, wild voice - sometimes dramatic, sometimes comedic, often both.
This group meets Monday nights on Zoom.
Each week we will share, listen deeply, and build meaning together. Homework and accountability are tools for you to use as you like.
Wild writing is playful and experimental. We test new ideas in the wild. Wild writing can be explosive and edgy, because it is uncensored. Wild writing can also seem absurd and even meaningless - until another wild woman reflects her connection to the writing.
Develop focus and comfort while giving and receiving feedback.
Be ready to throw out everything you think you know about your writing, and form a completely new relationship with your writerly self.
Writing done in class will make it easy for you to start a new project, like a memoir, novel, or play. You can also create a collection of essays, blog posts, or poems from each week's writing.
Build momentum for the project you're already working on, or write just for fun.
Wild Women Writing is led by Sarah Elovich - creator of Rewrite Yourself.
