Hey Rhein-Main Scala Enthusiasts,
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- this is a remote Meetup, we will use "zoom" (https://zoom.us/) as the videoconferencing tool.
- that means you have to INSTALL ZOOM to join this meetup!
- the zoom link and password will be posted before the Meetup as a comment, you need that link to join.
- no pizza, sorry :)
this time Alexey Novakov will give a talk about SBT:
SBT, the "Scala Build Tool" is the defacto standard for building a Scala project. With the latest release of SBT (1.3.x) it became even better
including more beautiful shell output and using coursier as the default concurrent dependency resolver. Additionally SBT allows any developer to extend its functionality with plugins.
Due to it's age and popularity, there are quite some plugins, many of them very useful in day-to-day development.
In this talk we will go through basic concepts of SBT and some plugins. We will look at some useful plugins that cover basic needs for any modern Scala project.
This talk will be also useful for new Scala developers who are using Maven or Gradle and did not use SBT as main tool for development. (And want to know why using SBT is worth a thought :) )
