Talk Abstract:
Do you want to understand how HashiCorp, Uber, DataDog, and many other companies ensure the reliability of their infrastructure provisioning workflows? They code them using a unique durable execution model supported by the Temporal open source project. Imagine stateful code that keeps running as long as needed and recovers seamlessly in the event of any failure. Temporal applies to many application domains besides infrastructure provisioning. Coinbase uses it to ensure the completion of money transfers and Doordash uses Temporal to automate order delivery processes.

The presentation will describe Temporal concepts, explain the programming model and discuss a few use cases. It also includes a live demo.

Max is CEO and co-founder of Temporal. He is a 20-year veteran of AWS, Google, and Uber engineering, having led development of the SQS replicated message store and the Simple Workflow service at AWS, and then co-creating Cadence (Temporal’s predecessor) at Uber.
